Zion National Park

There are dozens of trails, from easy to difficult– plan to spend all day in awe of the beauty surrounding you! The Narrows, Emerald Pool Trail, and The Watchman Trail are just a few of the popular hikes, but Angel’s Landing is the most popular hike in this national park for a reason. It’s over 4 miles long and considered a strenuous hike, and there are very narrow sections of the trail; however, the panoramic views make the experience all the more exhilarating! The Canyon Overlook Trail is only about a mile long, but the overlook provides incredible views with plenty of boulders to climb around on. Another fantastic area of Zion National Park is Kolob Canyon, specifically Taylor’s Creek Trail. It’s nearly 5 miles long but is well worth the effort. You’ll enjoy watching the mountain walls grow taller as you walk and cross the shallow stream several times. There’s even a double arch in the canyon wall towards the end of the hike!

Red Cliffs National Conservation Area

If hiking near St. George, Utah is on your list of things to do, Red Cliffs National Conservation Area should definitely be added to your itinerary! You’ll find excellent hiking opportunities there, just a few minutes north of St. George. You should hike to The Vortex (also known as the Lower Sand Cove Trail). This hike is a little over 2 miles roundtrip, and the sinkhole formation and other interesting rock formations make this trail a fun one! An easier, family-friendly hike is the Red Reef Trail, an incredible trail through a canyon. The canyon walls and gentle stream offer a picturesque beauty you must experience for yourself! Owen’s Loop is another St. George hiking trail where you can see all of downtown St. George and the surrounding valley, all the way to the Hurricane Cliffs. Yellow Knolls is a must for wildlife and viewing the many native plants of the area. The Elephant Arch Trail and Pioneer Park are two more great areas to explore!

The mountain views from the Hidden Pinyon Trail might surprise you!
